What would happen if research and educational programs were really able to show the socially constructed boundaries between humans and nature as just that – a dangerous, if somewhat 'arrogantly useful' fiction (Gough, 1991) that enabled humans to conceive of themselves as separate from and superior other beings (see Plumwood, 2002)? What if we were to actively seek out (and hear) voices from the more-than-human world?

Would humans still be able to exploit Others as they do?
