The bulk of the work of this dissertation was not so much finding the processes to move beyond a socially constructed human/nature divide (although learning some new (old) ways to communicate with animate Earth did take some time). Rather it was releasing fears, maintaining the courage, and finding the many different forms of support that eventually enabled me to speak the languages animism, spirit, and eventually, to both cite a few more-than-human sources and publicly promote the role of energy work in this process.

Access to texts, some of which were published and/or publicized during the last year of my writing (e.g. Laszlo, 2008; McTaggart, 2007), made this speaking much easier. Perhaps more significant was the continued affirmation I received as I spoke of this work among Indigenous scholars from a variety of backgrounds.
