Attempts to explain what I am describing as openness to porosity, or forms of re-animated, often embodied, perception (Bai, 2009), are found in a wide range of places, including human psychology, scientific journals, anthropological accounts, metaphysics, religious studies, the healing arts, discussions held among Aboriginal Peoples practicing traditional ways, and quantum theory. Depending on the location, time and context(s), different languages are used and some words have more currency than others, while still others remain marginalized, or feel unsafe to speak of in particular contexts such as Canadian educational systems.
