Integrating the kinds of knowing that came through communication with the animate Earth and that which arose through my intellect often proved to be very difficult. When I needed to write something (particularly when there was a deadline looming), I found myself defaulting to normalized notions (at least in my experience) of writing processes: working steadily at my desk or in front of my computer.... strategies that had me sitting for many more hours than was necessary.
