hypertext foregrounded

By foregrounding hypertext together with linear textual explanations, this dissertation both demonstrates the results of a research project using a dialogic methodology, and invites readers to experience the effects of dialogic reading practices themselves. It leaves gaps for the reader to pause and 'hear' what comes through them, rather than what is dictated by me, the author of the text. It allows the body – through the movement of the eyes, or the hands on a computer mouse – to become a more active collaborator in meaning-making. And it is often through the body's senses that the animate world speaks.
