hypertext foregrounded

By foregrounding hypertext together with linear textual explanations, this dissertation both demonstrates the results of a research project using a dialogic methodology, and invites readers to experience the effects of dialogic reading practices themselves. ∞ It leaves gaps for the reader to pause and 'hear' what comes through them, rather than what is dictated by me, the author of the text. It allows the body – through the movement of the eyes, or the hands on a computer mouse – to become a more active collaborator in meaning-making. And it is often through the body's senses that the animate world speaks.
