dowsing language

In my experience, much of the practice of learning to use a dowser is like learning another language. Yet in a culture that values action over sitting still (Kabat-Zinn, 2006), and rationality over intuition, my ability to speak of this learning has been subject to both the technologies power, and of self (Foucault, 1988). These disciplining practices were overcome, in part, by continued experiences that affirmed its value, together with a strong commitment to open up to porosity.

Despite repeated attempts over centuries, causes for the movements of a pendulum dowser have not been pinned down satisfactorily (in the context of Western thought, at least). Thus it is not my intention to do so here.
