discourse and subjectivity

The subjectivities (in a poststructural sense) of the author and reader, are produced through the cultural narratives (discourses) in which he or she is embedded and has access to (see Barrett, 2006). They are the primary lenses through which any analysis and meaning-making occurs (St. Pierre, 2000; Weedon, 2004). They are also the lenses that make some utterances, and in some cases, understandings, possible or impossible.
