increasing certainty
One of the biggest challenges for this research/representation process has been trying to work the hyphen between appropriately performing (Davies, 2000a) my subject position as academic, while simultaneously staying true to my increasing certainty that commonly accepted ways of knowing and being (within Western and academic cultures) limit admission of and participation in communication across socially constructed human/nature/spirit divides. It was only after I moved to a place where I was actively able to collaborate with several Aboriginal scholars in my new place of employment that my subject position, and my research methodology (and some of my methods) were normalized and I could speak more confidently and less euphemistically as I wrote an overview paper explaining the rationale for the hypertextual representation. ∞
