centering spirit?
How would centering spirit transform ways of learning, teaching, researching, knowing? Notions of what constitutes and counts as knowledge? Or how it gets produced and who gets to produce it?
Engaging with spirit and/or animate Earth gives access to knowledge and insight that is often beyond that which is conceivable through thinking alone. These insights may be particularly valuable given the ongoing and persistent gap between what is known about anthropogenic environmental degradation and what appears to be the limited effectiveness of educational and other responses to prompt significant or lasting change (see Stevenson, 2007a, 2007b).
